Finder hung / was using 100% of the CPU time while I was away earlier today. Had to hard reboot my iMac. :( See attached spin log for the technical details. Has this happened to anyone else? Some background information: I had Dropbox uploading files at the time of the spin. iTunes was also running, trying to sync my iPad.

Can't if Finder's hung while the screen saver is running, which was the case here.

If you run into that again, try holding down Command-Option-Shift-Esc for about 10 seconds. It will force quit whichever app has focus without bringing up any prompts. Should work for you in that scenario.

Thanks! I didn't know about that particular keyboard shortcut. I don't know if it'll work if even the screen saver has stopped moving, though.
