i dont know what i did, but when i right click on my mouse it opens my finder. When i log in, my finder does not start up like it usually does. So when i right click it opens my finder, and when i right click again, all the icons on the desktop dissapear for a moment then they come back, and it doesnt do anything, just focuses on the finder window. The bar up at the top will say finder, then disappear, then go back to finder. i looked at my mouse button shortucts in my expose folder in syst. pref. and none of them are set to anything. i try to right click a file like a music file or picture but the right click menu does not come up. all the icons disappear on my desktop then my finder folder opens up. whats the deal? how do i fix this?

You say 'right click' so you obviously have a non-Apple mouse. Have you looked at the Mouse software settings?

What you describe is bizarre. If the Mouse software doesn't lead to a solution, I would create a new User or log in to one if there is one, and aee if theh problems are still there. DO they still exist with a different mouse?

i have tried a different mouse, the same problem happens. I never installed any mouse software with it, i just plugged it into my usb port on my keyboard. and i tried it on another account and it does not happen. So it has to be a setting on my account. another forum said to delete the files com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.loginwindow.plist, this did not work either. its hard to describe, i try to right click anywhere on the desktop and instead of getting the menu that says new folder etc. all the icons on my desktop dissappear, then they come back and my finder window opens.
