Finder not sorting by date created

Hi,

For some reason, my finder window is not sorting my files by date created. It does sort them by date in terms of year, but that's all.
for example in this one folder, all the files for 2014 are just in alphabetical order.

Any ideas why this is?

Go to View > Arrange By and select None.

Then click on the top of the Date Created column to sort the entire list by creation date.

The semantics of "Arrange By" could probably use improvement.
