i have a few season of the simpsons on dvd that i ripped to my computer.....so each episode is a quicktime file, and the only way to keep them in order is to have it labeled like 1 XXXXX, 2 XXXXX........ is there anyway i could do it so i dont have the numerical digit first before the name, but still keep them in the same order (kind of like tags in itunes where you can put in for example "track # 2 of 9)

Well, as long as the preceding text was the same, you could place the season and episode number after the text ( Simpsons 01.012 ). You could also enter the season and episode as comments and then sort by comments in the Finder.

i believe if you play around with the view options (command J) you should be able to manually organize them, but be sure to set it to that folder only i suppose.
