Finder "sort-by" not working

When try to change the item growing (sort-by) size, name, added etc it doesnt change but stays the same ie it doesnt follow the instructions

happy new year and sorry for the late reply

Yes - i open a folder in the finder window, all the subfolders are in named with a number 90001, 90002 etc up to 96000, when i try to sort based on file size or date added or date modified etc i always get the same order ie the sorting is not working --the 96000 subfolders were created in a span of 6 yrs. The folder in an one-drive cloud folder with a shortcut in the finder. Up to a month ago it was working.
