When I open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon in the dock, it always opens with five open tabs.

I just can't get rid of them. Even if I close all tabs, they come back as soon as I open the Finder again.
If I close only a few tabs and close the window and open it up again, only the tabs I left open reappear. But as soon as I close all tabs and open a new window all 5 tabs are back again.

I already tried:
- Reboot
- defaults write com.apple.finder NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false
- Deleted com.apple.finder.savedState in ~/Library>Saved Application State
- Removed com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist in ~/Library/Preferences

Any ideas how I can get rid of them?
 
Have you tried toggling the "Open In New Tab" preference in finder preferences on and off?
 
I had a very similar problem with Finder opening the same window, I tried everything I could think of, in the end I had to rename the folder it was opening by default - then it fixed it.

Funny though, if I rename the folder back to the original name, it defaults to it again lol

It randomly started too, I didn't alter anything!
