Hey guys, I am from Australia and aware the strict lockdown in china in recent months has caused massive delays to macs. In fact, I cancelled my custom order for my 16 in machbook pro a little while ago because I didn't want to wait that long.

I have been trying to find a m1 max 16 inch with 64gb of ram & 2tb of ssd from almost every Australian retailer online but with no success.

Just before i make the dumb move to reorder a customer mac again, could someone from AUS please let me know if there are any retailers in Aus that has the the 16 inch mac with the specs I am after?

Thanks!

Why would you cancel the order before finding another one to purchase? Hardly any retailer will be carrying non-stock configs.

I am not sure if you have Costco, but that is the only place in the US I can find a Macbook Pro 14" or 16" that would ship within 24/48 hours. Mine is coming tomorrow and I ordered it yesterday. Apple currently is around the end of July and Best Buy is sold out here.

I can't categorically say that there is absolutely no retailer anywhere with this config, but I am 99% sure you won't find one. I got a 14" in a pretty standard config (1TB/16GB M1 Pro) about a month ago from officeworks but it was the last one they had in the entire state. I can't imagine there are any custom configs out there.

Apple does have an 8TB / 32GB M1 Max config in its Australian refurb store at the moment (for $8,169) but that's not the specific config you want so unless you are willing to compromise I don't like your chances of seeing a computer before the supply chain issues are sorted. Apple store is estimating 7-9 weeks for shipping, but there's no reason to believe even those dates wouldn't get pushed out.

Wow... I knew it was bad, didn't know it got this bad.
