Hi folks,

I'm wondering if anyone can help:

I'm about to sell my 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 2.66 12-core, but can't find the original discs! :( Waaaah!

I've owned 8 Macs and have never, ever misplaced the originals. They're always in 1 particular box, but theses ones aren't there (yet I saw them there last year). I forget why I had them out, but I think it was when I re-installed the OS on an older iMac.

I know I can cmd-R upon reboot to re-install the OS, but I'd like to do a complete wipe for whomever I sell it.
I did that last night and all my apps and everything was still there.

Plus, I'd like to include the discs although I do have an extra external hard drive to which I can backup via Time Machine and include.

So, is there anywhere I can download the images?

This machine has been great to me and I've taken care of it so I know it's still got some fantastic value.

I have torn my office and basement apart looking for the discs.
No doubt they'll be somewhere incredibly stupid and simple, but in the meantime, it's driving me batty.

TIA,
Keebler

I doubt any potential buyer cares about the 10.6.4 disks at this point. Create an El Capitan USB installer and reinstall from it and be done with it.

The last thing I would do before selling a computer is install a six-year-old pirated (and possibly cracked) OS on it.

Thanks Scott. I'm downloading a copy of Yosemite and the buyer can decide if they want EP. I've heard rumours of issues with it and FCX. I'm thinking this Mac will cater to video and photo folks.

I have a 5,1 built in 2011. I bought it new, and it did not come with any discs. AFAIK, Apple discontinued providing Installation Discs, sometime in late 2010.
