I can't find the:
In the ‘Software Version’ drop-down menu, select ‘Other Version’ and navigate in Finder to the OS X iPhone 2.0 .ipsw file
downloaded from the iPhone Dev Center. Click ‘Restore iPod’.

It's killing me :(

The 2.0 ipsw is no longer on the dev site because it's now officially released. If you have a 3G phone, it came installed with 2.0. If you have the original iPhone or an iPod touch, upgrade to 2.0 through iTunes if you haven't done it already. If you want to develop a 2.0 app, that's all you need.

The 2.1 beta ipsw is on the site and available to those in the Developer Program. If you don't see a section that says, "iPhone OS 2.1 beta downloads", you aren't in the Developer Program and can't access it.

Tom

You had to be registered before July 11th to get the 2.1.

Anyhow, I think my biggest problem is setting the Build -> Code Signing Provisioning Profile.

In the "Any iPhone OS Device", it only has this:

I have downloaded my certificates, profiles, everything.

  • iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.1 (updated 9/9/2008)
  • iPhone SDK Readme (updated 9/9/2008)
  • iPhone SDK Agreement (updated 10/20/2008)
  • iPhone OS Pre-Installation Advisory
    (updated 9/24/2008)

the 2.1 ipsw thing is not there.:(

You only need to spend time on this if you're using pre-release beta versions of the software. For iPhone 2.1, the download from iTunes is the version to use for development.

Sorry, forgot to add this. Only developers accepted before the official release of iPhone 2.0 are eligible to download the beta OS builds currently.
