Finding the right screwDrivers for MBP 15' mid 2012

Im looking to change the battery and the dc-in board magsafe for my 15' macbook pro retina laptop, apple quoted me 430 dollars, and im very handy with computers so i thought i would replace the parts my self.

i have searched online and found many different answers. i Know the back case screw drivers are apples pentalobe type.

i would like to know what screw drivers and their sizes for each of the screws inside the laptop and which size pentalobe screwdriver for the outside case.

ive read that the battery is stuck to the front case, is it possible to replace the battery even ?

Also which battery should i look for, i know its 85w one anything else i have to make sure of.

Your battery is glued to the top case.

Here is ifixit.com repair guides for your model MBP. There is a section for the battery and DC in board. The repair guides list needed tools & parts. Screwdrivers and parts can also be purchased from them.

Tedious! I get anxiety from reading those instructions even though it's not my computer. Too bad they couldn't have found a better way to secure the battery other than glue.

The glue works pretty well. You never hear about at battery coming loose which happens with removable batteries. And Apple designs are going non upgradable.

Have you tried the battery on a 2007 pre-unibody MBP? That battery fits in there perfectly and doesn't move around at all. It's also easily removable by its two spring loaded quick release slide latches.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to fix this stuff.

Honestly, this has been a gradually-increasing deterrent for me, I really loved the machines which were maintainable and had replaceable parts, the cost for things like battery replacements is sorta prohibitive.
