Hello there, fellow iPhone owners. I recently jailbroke my 2.2.1 iPhone 3G for the sole purpose of using PDA Net to tether my iPhone to my MBP. I was wondering if anybody in the forums had any unfortunate experiences of being slapped with heavy usage charges for "tethering" their phones?

Unless you use a suspiciously large amount of data on your phone through that application, you account won't be flagged for possibly violating that. So just watch what you do, and do over do it.

I know I'm being really paranoid about this, but do you think a couple of hours of browsing every day would warrant a flag on my account?

Please note that the phone will get warm faster and its battery drains faster as well...

Tether via usb and it charges while you surf so you could plug it in almost dead, surf an hour, and leave full.

On topic I have not heard anyone get hit with overage charges for tethering and it's been around a long time. That being said I would not tether if I was on contract because they could crack down whenever they wanted and your screwed. I tether daily but have prepay so they don't even know my name :p(I always put Michael Smith online haha)
