Finished iTunes Match. All Cloud symbols are gone. How do i download???

Alright i just got done with the iTunes match and while it was doing that there were a bunch of iCloud symbols for each of my songs. After it got done all of them went away except the ones that were ineligible and duplicates. Most of the my file sale matched, a few say uploaded, etc... All of my files are still the same quality type though...

I thought this is supposed to convert them to 256k as well as getting all the artist information & artwork. I paid $25 and nothing has changed yet. Please help

Ok so i found out i have to delete all of my songs before iTunes will allow me to download it in 256k.

My next concern is that all the song information, artist name, and artwork is not getting updated to match iTunes...

I was under the impression that metadata was transferred so that if you delete and re-download, you should get all that information back. Only way to know is to try I guess...

That's the whole point though. I don't want to it copy what i have in there. I want it to match what the iTunes store is. Some of my files have the wrong song name, artist name, artwork, and a couple of downloaded songs have websites in the info sometimes. Isn't iTunes suppose to replace all of that with the real data?...

Plus i have some songs that are both by the same artist but won't group together for some reason. I was hoping this would fix a lot of those issues i had.

I'd suggest using something else such as MusicBrainz Picard (free) or TuneUp (paid). This will replace your metadata with the correct stuff. (assuming your using a Mac)

Well you've pretty much told the world that your music collection consists of stolen music, so why should you expect Apple to legitimise it for you? Probably the whole reason that they don't change the metadata is to ensure that what you are trying to do is not done....

To sort out your grouping issue, in iTunes you probably need to highlight the song(s) you are interested in and "get info" then look in the Album Artist tag, that's often the one that causes grouping issues.

I think if anything having all your metadata clobbered by what iTunes has should be optional and not a mandatory effect. For example, I have music by foreign artists that are defaultly written in English but I prefer them written natively so I do it myself. When that music gets matched, I don't want all that work get clobbered and overwritten.

Furthermore, I often replace the official album art with other images I prefer for the album. I don't want that clobbered/overwritten either.

I'm confused. If a song is matched and you delete the local copy from iTunes, there is no local metadata. However, if the song was uploaded, it was uploaded as-is and will also download as-is.

To test you can make a copy of one of your songs that matched. Change the metadata in iTunes, let it match, delete it, download it, and see what happens.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm curious how came to that conclusion. I download songs from Freegal through my local library and I change the metadata. If her description is common to pirated files then I supposed you could draw a line between the two.
