I use the Fire chat software for a single msn account, but lately it hasn't been working. It says connected but none of my contacts appear online, although i know they are online because i can check using msn messenger. I can even recieve messages from them, but when i try to reply, it says there was an error. I tried reinstalling the software, deleting the plist and the application support folder, and just setting up my account again, but it didn't change anything. Anybody else use this software and have this problem? Is msn trying to prevent that software from hooking up to their system? Or is there something else i should delete when i reinstall the program?
I tried proteus and its really good, but it just doesn't have some of the features i really like about fire and also sometimes has a little trouble connecting. oh how i wish ichat supported msn....

check if the msn daemon has hung; u can cehck by opening the activiy monitor in ur utlities folder

well the process viewer says msn messenger is being used by the root, and its status is zombie. what does that mean, and what's a daemon, i've been wondering for a while.
