Hi,
I've been running Safari lately without any problems, but I just noticed that Firefox has their 1.5 Beta 2 available. Anyone using it and how buggy is it?
thanks.
Frank

It's my backup browser (after Safari), and it seems fine. There's even some old extentions (like AdBlock) that has survived going from Firefox 1.0.3/4, via DeerPark (Firefox alpha 2) and Firefox Beta 1, and still works just fine in Beta 2... :)

No major bugs, that I've discovered, only one real annoyance: Cannot scroll down one page with the space bar, which I'm used to in Safari, older versions of Firefox and most other browsers... :(

I do have it installed on my Mac but I don't use it very much. I like Safari better. On my Windows and Linux machine, I have it installed. It works great. Seems very stable and fast.

i'm using 1.5 beta 1 (havent had any problems so i didnt upgrade to beta 2) are there any new features in beta 2?

I have been using firefox 1.5 beta 2 for about a week now. Its been nice, my only real problem is on my bookbar, i cant see what i have highlighted. Its must my cursor over the text.

Sorry, but no new stuff in beta 2, its just a more stable release.

I'm using it at my work machine (because I'm eventually going to re-install from scratch anyway, and I don't really care what happens to it). Seems to work fine, just as good as 1.07, if not better. Still has a few glitches, but nothing too noticable (tells me it crashed if I close it with open tabs, even though it didn't, I closed it... might be an XP thing). Some extensions work for me as long as I update them. It's free, give it a try.

I have a friend using the G5 optimised version of 1.07 though on his iMac, and it's really nice. If you have a G4 or G5, I'd stick with that for now. Unless you can find a Gx optimised 1.5.

I tried it, but Safari is still my default browser as it's a bit more stable. The problems I had were that Firefox 1.5 inexplicably had no horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the page, which drove me crazy, and it sometimes timed out on my network, or went extremely slow. I don't really have any problems using it on my Windows machine though, although I rarely use that computer.

I've been using Beta 2 and I'm pretty sure it starts up a lot quicker when you open it, and it uses just a little bit less memory (compared to Beta 1).

Beta 2 is fine...no problems here. I think its a huge leap past the 1.0.x versions on Mac. It now has a nice native look to it and does not look like a Windows program. I think its great and have had 0 problems. I personally don't see the big deal with Safari and I think its page rendering speed is too slow. I never use it.
