Have a Mac last 5 years; always used Safari. Previous 20 yrs PC user so not all together with the Mac. Want to switch to Firefox but downloads direct me to App Store where I search Firefox and nothing comes up. What gives?

Go to this screen in System Preferences and change the bottom setting to match mine, then it will let you install the app.
