Just confirming that my RME Fireface 800 is working fine (with the relevant adapters) with my new Mac Mini M4 Pro under Sequoia. It did work with previous mach M series machines but I am shocked still plodding along with the new design and os. I thought I was going to have to change interface, so happy days. :)

Firewire 400 to 800 cable -> FW800 to TB2 adapter -> TB2 to TB3 adapter. Install drivers, shutdown and hold power button to access menu to adjust security policy. Reboot and enable in system prefs to allow Totalmix to load. One more restart then good to go.

Glad to hear that Apple is still supporting legacy FireWire devices!

I am planning on upgrading from my 2017 iMac 4K to a Mac mini M4 2024 . I have the same three Apple adapters for my firewire Mackie Onyx mixer. I had to take my iMac to the Apple store to downgrade my software to Monterey 12.6.3. as the later software did not support firewire. Just wondering where you find the firewire drivers? Just want to make sure I can still run my firewire mixer if I buy the new Mac Mini M4?

Hello, this looks promising for you - quite a few hoops but some people have success. Quite a read - https://www.reddit.com/r/iOSProgramming/s/wCESk9RUNe

I've done some research into upgrading to a Mac mini M4 to work with my firewire Mackie 820i Core Audio mixer and decided that it's not worth the expense or effort, so if my iMac dies, I will buy a $40 dollar firewire card and use a Windows 11 PC.
