I'm not to knowledgable in this area, but am interested in learning more. Are there any digital cameras that use firewire or are they all usb? Is there any need or potential for firewire use in cameras? (and i do mean still photos not movies, im not that dumb :)) Thanks.

Some of the high end Digital SLR's (Like the Nikon D1 series) use firewire.

However, I use a firewire CompactFlash reader and I get much better transfer speeds then I would get using USB.

You don't necessarily need a firewire camera. You just need a firewire reader for the flash memory it uses.
