Firewire port on a macbook

On the MBP:
Firewire 400 is 6-pin
Firewire 800 is 9-pin
On most other laptops, the Firewire 400 is 4-pin, which is the data pins only. No power is provided on a 4-pin Firewire 400 port.
Are you sure it's 6-pin? I swear it looks like a 4-pin. Whatever, the point is that the macbook uses a 6-pin.
It's true the Firewire 800 port is 9-pin, but you'll be surprised there's an unused pin in it.

They don't, which is why this confuses me. The port doesn't look like a six pin.
