Hi guys,

This is probably a really obvious question but -- can an external hard drive using Firewire 400 plug into a Firewire 800 port?

Does the Powerbook 1.67 15" only have a Firewire 800 port?

If I buy a used laptop from a private party, just over a year old, I'm screwed getting AppleCare but are there any other reputable companies that offer a warranty?

If you have a laptop, you pretty much NEED a warranty, right?

You need an adapter.

No. It has 1 Firewire 800 port and 1 Firewire 400 port.

No one is going to give you a warranty on a laptop they didn't make. The the laptop does have AppleCare, you can have it transfered.

No. That's a personal decision.

Glad to hear the Powerbook has a Firewire 400 port -- I was starting to regret not getting a triple interface on my external hard drive!

I always thought if the year of complimentry applecare expired already, then you couldn't purchase the additional two years anymore?
