Firewire to USB on MBA

I'm trying to figure out how to connect my VCR with my MBA. I do have a firewire cable but I never saw any firewire to UBS cable converter.
Does it make any sense? Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure Firewire to USB conversion is impossible

There may be a way to do it, but if there is I reckon it'd be pretty pricey.

I have investigate this countless time, and unfortunately I have not been able to find the solution.. I do not think one exists.
