Firewire Trouble with CD2 MPB...

Hi all. First posting here and I hope someone can help me out. I have the new CD2 MPB and I love it. It is all that I wanted plus a bag a chips! But I have been having a issue with transferring my files from my G4 cube on to my notebook via Firewire 400. The FW icon appears but when i click on it the cursor starts spinning and never opens....
Please some one help!
