I have tried everything I can think of to get mms to work...I downloaded the Carrier 5.0 from 4.0 and I am on firmware 3.0.1. After installing the carrier 5.0 I had the option to send MMS...in the txt message the little camera came up and I could select a pic and had the choice to send via MMS but they just timed out and would get the little red explanation point. So I put my iPhone SIM card in my Nokia 5800 Express and I made a few calls, checked voice mail, sent a txt and MMS message. I then took the SIM out of the Nokia and back into my iPhone thinking I was going to be good for MMS but it wiped out all my settings for MMS on the iPhone...I no longer have the option for MMS in TXT or in Messages. But the Tethering option is still there which i do not care about..

What gives....I even jailbroke it and used 3.0 firmware and still did not work...So then I loaded Swirly MMS2 and if I wanted to use it I had to pay $12..NOT!!!!!!

so now I upgraded to 3.0.1 with Carrier 5.0....jailbrake was removed...

OH this is on 3G S phone only 2 weeks old..

It's something that needs to be enabled on AT&T's side.

Please enlighten me on what needs to be added...I even logged into my ATT account and changed the phone that was on my account...I have restored back to factory with Carrier 4.0 and then when thru the whole process again...when i get to 3.0.1 and Carrier 5.0 the options still do not show up...So ATT seem to be monitoring/blocking the hacks that once use to work for MMS

at&t has to put out a carrier update for MMS to be enabled

the 5.0 carrier update does support MMS..I saw it on my phone...I hear that 3.1 firmware is going to be where they enable MMS...

Customers with iPhone have an MMS block feature on their account. It cannot be removed by CS reps or reps in the store. When AT&T removes this feature (via the proverbial "flicking of the switch") is when they will release the new carrier file.

It has to be something else because i can take my SIM out of my iPhone and put it my Nokia 5800 I can send MMS messges after making a few phone calls..I have does this numerous times...If what you were saying is true, that would mean any phone I put my iPhone SIM in I would not be able to send MMS messages....

It's not an "iPhone SIM". It's the same SIM card that goes in every other phone. AT&T knows which phone you are using. What you are doing worked for a couple weeks after the 3GS release but no longer works. It is true that they have a lock on MMS for iPhone data packages, which is completely bogus IMO. Why they didn't prepare for this in advance is beyond me. Poor execution on their part.

I just did a restore and it put 4.0 back on it....I was thinking since that I have a 2nd phone, the Nokia 5800, could I put my SIM from my iPhone back into the Nokia, call ATT, tell them I sold the iPHone, get the $10 family share Internet package, then put it in the iPhone?
