Hi everybody,
I've come into a eVGA NVIDIA 8800GTS 640MB video card which a friend of mine left apart for upgrading his PC computer.
I've tried flashing it to make it work on my Mac Pro 1,1 (first model) using nvflash and a 8800GT Mac rom but it doesn't work because the chipset is different: 8800GT has G92 while mine has G80.
So I'm here stuck searching for a firmware which can run this little jewel; I've even read something interesting at MacVideoCards.com (you can see it here) but the site is nearly broken as far as I can't even send them an email...
The system is running MacOSX 10.7.5 without hassles.

Any help?

Best regards ;)

I'm 99% positive Nvidia BIOS chip isn't large enough for EFI.
the 8800GT Mac Edition had a larger BIOS chip, that's why it worked in OSX with EFI.

This link makes me think you're wrong... :)
It's the very same card I own.

That is one misleading listing as well. The 8800GTS 640 is based on an older architecture and is no where as fast as the 8800GT...

I agree but keep in mind I've come across this board at zero money... :D

send "macvideocards" a PM on ebay or here (he's a member here) and ask how much it would cost to send the card to him, have him replace the bios with a larger bios and add EFI.
since the card was free it wont cost you too much in the end.
