I currently run Mojave 10.14.3 beta (18D32a ). My boot rom shows 138.0.0.0.0 although as it seems should be the 140 firmware. Would the firmware be different because of the beta version? I have no problems whatsoever in Mojave & don't see the point in doing anything, unless there are some benefits I don't have now. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

^^^^If you want to run an NVME SSD you will need FW140.0.0.0.0. I also believe the microcodes are further updated. Otherwise, AFAIK, no other benefit.

thanks Lou. Right now I just run 4 of the old ssd. I was curious though as to why it didn't update the firmware when Mojave was installed. That's why I was wondering if beta had any part in it.
Again, Thanks

It seems that you have upgraded through the software update mechanism in the MAS, rather than download the FULL INSTALLER. The full installer needs to be used in order for firmware updates. Also there is a minimum firmware requirement before 140.0.0.0.0

This SEEMS to be the reason.
