First 3G iphone hacked! or is this a trick?

this video bother me a lot because i couldn't find how to do this hack. This video state that this guy hacked the 3G iphone by changing the carrier tag. Please take a look and tell me if you can find the source on how he did it on his 3G iphone. thank guys :confused::confused:

I see no Installer.app, no Cydia...nothing. Appears he just managed to change how his Provider was shown on the phone. Honestly, it's not that hard if you know what you're doing.
 
what tool did he used tho? I Thought there wasn't any 3G iphone hack yet.

ya but there should be a solution to do this, but where? I checked major hacked iphone site but there no solution for this carrier tag change because he just did this on the 3G iphone.. It would be great if someone share the source on how to do this on the 3G iphone... thank

Carrier names could be done the same as was with the iPhone 2.5G because odds are Apple didn't see a need to change that because it's a carrier name, that's it.
 
Anyone can do this. Here are the steps:

  1. Take a screenshot of your homepage.
  2. Upload to iPhoto and open in Photoshop.
  3. Delete "AT&T" (or any other carrier shown) and adjust WiFi bars.
  4. Type in whatever you want where the carrier name was.
  5. Save the picture.
  6. Sync it to your iPhone.
  7. Open the picture on your iPhone.
  8. Take a video of it, and post it on YouTube telling people you hacked it.

Good point, don't think he touched anything on the screen...

No, he definitely did touch the screen. And it read it on the slide screen. Hmmm.

A picture of the home screen on my 16 gb 3G phone, no photoshop necessary. A very easy hack.
 
wow, so this is a fake hack then, unless someone proof that there is a solution to this.. oh well :D:eek: alright thank ;)
 
Its more of a trick than a hack.

Steps:

1) Change carrier logo on unlocked 1st gen iPhone
2) Remove Sim card, put in 3G iPhone
3) Your phone has been "hacked"!
