UPDATE: FIND OUT HOW YOUR BATTERY COMPARES TO OTHERS HERE: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/844645/
Hi All,
Some of you may have read my experiances in the first 12 hours of owning my Rev A MacBook Air.
You should probably read that first.
Now, following on from that I have settled in a bit more and starting to DO things.
I really like the clean look of OS X. The overly complex animation of glowing buttons etc on Windows 7 makes the whole experience feel a lot faster.
So far, I haven't noticed any problems with the speed of the machine, I understand comparing it to the rest of the MB line its slow but so far I can run GarageBand and surf the net along with YouTube just fine.
I have found, however, that read/write speeds are a little slower. I have 7200RPM Disks on my desktop and I had an SSD on my little ol' netbook. So this is a bit slow. An upgrade for that will definitely be on the cards.
32GB or 64GB SSD will be fine for me, as most of my DATA is on a 2TB NAS so only program storage is needed!
Battery has come to my attention and I am interested to see what other people are getting...
On my very rough timing I think I managed about 4 hours of mixed browsing, installing programs and GarageBand. Which seems pretty good!
In another thread I will post my CoconutBattery Stats and we can all compare!
All in all, the problems I had in the first 12 hours seem to have worked themselves out and I am starting to enjoy what a Mac can do.
iLife really is something special!
Thanks, Joe.
