2 iphones. You gotta be joking me ... for what?

No overages detailed, with exception to ~$2 worth of text overage.

My first bill was right around $150 for one iPhone for my plan plus first bill fees.

Guess it is possible depending on what plan you have.

oh, with a due date 10 days from now..thats extra cute...it hasnt even shown up in the mail yet. Maybe they try to engineer it so my first payment is late (1.5% charge).

I just have a 1400 minute family plan with iphones on the account.

I think its just a bit cheezy they are doing this, and also charging me for two months of service. i'll have to keep this in mind when i cancel, as there was recently a class action lawsuit about them charging for the last month of service.

yeah, mine was about 175, when I called ATT about it they said they charged me for the prorated month, and the month coming up, activation, taxes, etc. I understand the billing, just stinks its that much and they bill ahead of time. oh well.

I do hate initial cable and cell phone bills, but the proration and prepay are pretty standard. Not unique to the iPhone or at&t.

Well, two iPhones on a 1400-minute family share plan would be $130/month usually, plus tax. If it ends up that you are right around your bill cycle date, you'd be charged for the month you've used it (post-paid) as well as the next month (bringing you to pre-paid), so that could be $260. Your area's tax may be as much as 20% ($52), so that would bring it to $312. With two activation fees, so $36x2, bringing the total to $384. $2 of text overage, $386.
...There's still another $20 there somewhere--I'd suggest taking a closer look at your bill to figure out if it's additional proration (like more than a full month of post-paid usage), or if your tax is higher than 20%. Did you get any additional text packages or like a one-month-freebie like voice-activated services or roadside assistance? That could do it.

Also, I'd recommend not acting like a complete baby about this, because there's only like a 0.01% chance that AT&T really messed up your bill--speaking as someone who had a job solely consisting of dealing with that 0.01%, as well as before that having the job of dealing with all customers who thought their bill was wrong. Trust me, it's always AT&T's fault. Take this knowledge and treat whatever rep you speak with about this with dignity and politeness, and you'll catch more flies with honey. They might give you payment arrangements, they might give you a courtesy credit, or maybe there is genuinely an issue somewhere. Additionally, I suggest not throwing around words like "class-action lawsuit," because you're only going to sound like a tool talking to a customer service rep trying to resolve your issue.

Seriously, how hard is it to READ YOUR BILL. They don't give you a DETAILED bill report for nothing. Add it up, it tells you exactly why you were charged. How many more of these threads must be started. Is a phone bill something new to you? It's a good thing we aren't discussing rocket science.

I choose pre paid, here is what i have fund ot so far, no actavition fee at all and no charge for visal voicemail, no taxs like my other cell.....ahhhhhh priceless :)

Yeah, and you pay about 3-4 times as much per minute cost. Ahhhhh, priceless.

Another ATT CSR on the board. What's up brother.

I received my first bill and it was exactly as expected. I did my research up front and knew precisely what I would be charged for so none of it was a surprise.

The extra charges I received were well detailed and made sense (additional phone for a relative, directory assistance etc...)

I have the 2100 minute family plan and it all added up. No extra charges for minutes or roaming and I'm pleased with it.

I'll venture to guess that most people that are complaining will discover the charges make sense and are fair.

LOL.. I don't know, I'm not a complete knucklehead- at least I don't think I am ;-)- but I find those things fairly confusing to decipher.. Maybe because I have so many phones on my plan for my employees? Who knows, but to me it seems like 30 pages of drivel..LOL.. All I know is that every month my bill is pretty close to what they quoted me, so I'm happy.. If I get a crazy bill then I know it might be time to change my plan..

Yikes! :)

My first bill (for 2 iphones) was $140, the second was $125. It was what I expected to see.

1st bill - $21 - prorated.
2nd bill - $119 - 3 member plan/700min/1iPhone - exactly as expected.

No extra month as I was already with AT&T since pre-Cingular AT&T so only Post billing. No activation on iPhone:)

First bill is always the worst... I remember mine was like $250. Luckily I was already with AT&T when I got my phone so my bill just went up an extra $10 each month.

$406 - (2 activation fees $35ea) = $336 / 2 iphones / 2 months = $84 per month.

That's seems right to me.... and cheaper than my old Vz bill.
