Foldable phone set to be released next month, still in rumor phase though. Looks pretty slick, although it's NOT a foldable screen. It's basically 2 screens put together with a hinge. Supposedly it's 10mm thick when folded, which is pretty skinny IMO. $650 price, not bad at all.

Interesting and might satisfy my craving for something novel until the truly foldable screens come out. Commence the bickering!!!

So a flip phone? Been there, done that.

Not exactly, both sides have a 1080p screen. You can run independent apps on either screen at the same time. I'm assuming you can use it as one big screen as well, but that wasn't mentioned. But yea essentially it's just a hinge, versus the foldable screens we expect from Samsung.

I think the hinge thing has been done before anyway, if you mean something like the Kyocera Echo

Yeah I looked it up on google, seems like it's been done before. Maybe this iteration will be more exciting, 10mm when folded, nearly invisible hinge area and very small bezels would be must haves for 2017.

I can foresee it having a serious problem with getting any form of android updates. It’s probabaly going to run a version of android so heavily modified that will be difficult to go back and retweak without a lot of time and money.

Unless it moves tens of millions of units I can’t see Samsung bothering.

Yeah that's probably true, depends on how many they sell as well. But still, having a tablet in your front pocket is pretty sweet. As I previously said, if they can make the seam near invisible, and have minimal bezels it might be a nice device. 10mm thick when folded is very acceptable.
