hi, i have a jailbroken first gen iphone with an orange sim card, tried to upgrade to 2.0 last night and now all i get is emergency calls only or the screen with the usb cable and an arrow pointing towards the itunes icon, i've tried to 'do it all' with ziphone and aswell as using iliberty but neither of them seem to get the phone going again, anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Lloyd

i also had a jailbroken, unlocked iphone wich was workin great occasionaly messed up but nothin major, i also decided to upgrade to 2.0 big mistake as u too can see. Im guessing your iphone has been unlocked so you can use any sim? if so mine was the same. What you have to do it plug your iphone via usb into the computer and itunes will come up with setting up itunes account, unfortunatly you have to regisiter to get any further, once regisitered it will say on your phone and computer iphone activated. If your iphone was unlocked to use any sim you might have to get an O2 sim seen as the iphone came out orginally on O2. i have done the same. prob is i dont think ziphone has the version to jailbreak or unlock 2.0 on the iphone as of yet.

I hope this helps in some sort of way. Please let me know how it goes for you

Louise

I upgraded my 1G iPhone and I like it. Mine doesn't want to restore at all. I think your problems come from it being jailbroken.

i have a unlocked iphone that is on 1.1.4 and i want it to be 2.0...what process can we use to get to 2.0..

Hey cheekz.

Seen as you have an unlocked iphone already, i wouldnt suggest updating 2.0 just yet because once you update it, it will automatically restore factory settings which means your iphone will no longer be unlocked. I know this because my iphone was unlocked to use any simcard and i updated it to 2.0 and it restored everthing and i can now only use an O2 simcard. I have been looking for the software to unlock my iphone again but so far ziphone hasnt got the software for the version 2.0 yet. So best thing to do is hold fire on the update till ziphone or other software people have the 2.0 version of jailbreak and to unlock it.

Hope this has helped?

Cheers

Louise

what you mean o2 sim? I mean its already unlocked and jailbroken to 1.1.4. One of the guys told me is to winpwn it and use the custom ipsw to restore it to the 2.0

The Iphone came out orginally on O2 thats what i mean about O2 sim. If anything ask the guy you got it off what he knows. All i know is when i received my phone it too was unlocked and jailbroken then i upgraded to 2.0 and thats when it restored factory settings which ment the phone was no longer unlocked. Im only saying what i know, i dont know if it is the same for you.

Well my brother gave me his iphone to me because he got the 3g. but i took it to this one guy to unlock it for me and he did it with pwnage or winpwn i think

That's because you upgraded to 2.0.

Your version of 2.0 is not unlocked for use with an Orange SIM card.

ZiPhone and iLiberty do not support unlocking 2.0 at this time.

Pwnage (if you're on a Mac) and WinPwn (if you're running Windows) will both allow you to unlock your phone.
