I received my APM this morning in the mail and, like a giddy child on Christmas, ripped them open (beautiful packaging Apple, btw). Was purchased for me as a present, so my expectations may differ than someone who spent their own money on them.

First impressions: they are smaller than what online pictures show you, and much lighter than what many people have made them out to be. I was expecting severe neck strain within the first hour of listening but you hardly notice them. Granted, I'm not "testing" them but wearing them as I normally would at my home office - splitting time between resting my head on my headrest and sitting upright. But I can see that those with weaker neck muscles would feel the strain?

I have the APP's and the noise cancellation definitely sounds better because they're completely over the ear. I had Beats Studio3's (hated them) and they're definitely much better than them.

I'm not an audiophile but they sound great to me, especially with transparency on.

Overall, really loving my APM's. I was worried because the amount of negativity was so off putting. But now that I have them, I love them. I miss having over the ear headphones and I've been craving something better since my Studio3's.

I also purchased the silicone covers for them. Should I not use them and just go naked? Would love your opinions. Still looking into a case as I will go traveling in 2 months since I got my second vaccine shot.

Glad you're loving them, I am still loving mine as well.. I haven't tested any other similarly priced headphones but I'm happy with my purchase. I think that's where a lot of the hate and discontent comes from, the price is a shock.

If you like the covers go for it! A big part of the experience of owning Apple products is the materials that they choose. I don't put covers on any of my Apple products (magic keyboard not withstanding..) and I am continuing that with my APM.

As far as cases, most seem to love the waterfield case, but thats $99, if you're looking for cheaper I think there are other threads with pictures and reviews of cases.

I agree! I just bought a blue pair at the local Apple Store, I couldn't resist when I saw they were in stock. They are much smaller and lighter than I was expecting! I love the noise cancellation and my wife loves Transparency because I can still hear her while wearing them.

Because I have children, I'm hoping the small, added protection allows me to let them use it as well when they ask for it haha. But I agree that having these naked and touching the metal definitely adds to the experience.

A lot of the negativity is meant to call attention to the posters and not the phones.
Yeah, I'm definitely seeing that more and more. The best opinion is yours at the end of the day.

I always wonder if it's "rude" to wear headphones on, especially in-ear and over-the-ear, in front of others, even with Transparency. It just doesn't feel acceptable right now, but I'm hoping to just wear these and talk with people outside my house and them not getting offended, you know? But yes, love the Transparency.

Also, Spatial Audio is great on the APP, but AMAZING on the APMs!

I just got mine today, and I agree, I love how they sound and their build quality. I can't wait to use Spatial Audio tonight while watching Star Wars. I think I might watch the first season of The Mandalorian again to try it out. So happy with them!
