happens with optical mouses (or is it "mice"?). it probably gets better if you use a different underground for your mouse.

Thanks for that info. I'm switching it with my Logitech MX Revolution (with a laser), so it probably shouldn't be a problem anymore.

EDIT: I have another problem, my Mail app isn't syncing all the emails with my gmail account. When I tell it to check for mail, it acts as if it already has all my mail.

I had some issues with Mail on my Gmail account too. I just switched to Thunderbird, I like that much better and it's what I've always used anyways. Are you using IMAP?

As for the mouse, are you using a mouse pad that has a clear plastic coating on it? I had this issue before, I think the laser sometimes reflects in the clear plastic which causes it to go nuts every once in a while. I switched mouse pads and haven't had the problem since then.
