The store's site is here. (First read about it on Fatwallet.)

Basically, if you're one of the first nine customers in line when the store opens Thursday, August 9th, you can buy a 4GB iPhone for 99¢.

:D

That's a really good promotional gimick. They could have done it better though. After the 1st 9 people line up people will stop forming a line. Wouldn't make sense to be the 11th person in line :p they're going to pay full price.

They should have promoted:

"1st person pays .99 cents! and every person after only pays $1 more!.... So the second person pays 1.99 , 3rd person pays 2.99 etc..."

I think that would have been contrary to the whole idea... that is, according to their website, that nothing costs more than .99 - including an iPhone, if you're lucky...

I'm sure there are already 9 people in line.

I wouldn't be surprised!

I bought my iphone on the first day. I was about 7th in like my local at&t store, i was kind of expecting something special to happen, especially for the first people in line. Like iphones for half price, or some kind of special promo. Guess i dont know apple.
