Yesterday morning in the parking lot of the Manchester New Hampshire Best Buy a teenager did a shove and grab and took off.

The article did not mention which iPad the victim purchased or if there were any accessories with it.

Does anyone have any thefts to report?

Saw that a bit earlier. People know how to pick their victims. I am 6'2" 225lbs muscle and I still had the best buy guy double bag my iPad.

People shouldn't steal, but it happens. People may laugh at the fact that this guy was jacked like a woman getting her purse snatched, but it could have been worse, a lot worse.

Makes a good case for ordering directly from the Apple Store. They don't charge for shipping and it comes right to your door. Why anyone wants to go through the hassle of going to the store for an iPad is beyond me.

You would think that with all of the hype around yesterday that there would have been alot of people in the parking lot and someone would have done something when this happen.

I'd assume that apple records the serial# when an iPad is sold. Seeing as how the iPad has to be synced with itunes to work there is a good chance that the stolen iPad will pop up on the grid at some point.

That's what I'm thinking. Will it pop up once it's registered?

Isn't that funny? It's ALMOST like England used to be in charge in the USA. :D

ENGLAND???? ffs

It was Britain!!!! And there are places called Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow in the USA!! Not to forget the Welsh and Irish places too.

Sorry that really annoys me, its like me thinking that New York is the USA, Obama is the president of Washington or that Florida went and landed people on the moon..

Rant over! lol

Its a dull yin getting yir iPad chored straight after yi got it though..

We can't help everyone is taking our gun rights away :(
And why would someone risk their life to save your IPAD?

Must admit I was shocked on a recent visit to NYC to see kids leaving the Apple Store with Macbook Airs which were on their back with the Drawstring Apple bag. All I could imagine was somebody with a knife just slowly cutting the bag open and the box falling into their hands whilst the owner was walking up the street!!

Also people walking around with iMac boxes etc casually late at night

At Best Buy they didn't remove them from their shipping boxes so you got a nice brown box in a Best Buy bag. If that doesn't scream "nothing of value here" I don't know what does. ;)

I was more worried later taking public transit home with the case I bought at the downtown Apple Store in that "rob me" apple bag. I thought about buying something else at the mall but next door is Victoria's Secret and I think I'd rather be victimized by someone needing money for drugs instead of satisfying a fetish. Easier to explain at the office on Monday.

The last thing I want a new Apple product put in is a big shiny white bag with the Apple logo on it. Stop off at TJ Maxx first for carrier bags!

I get a lot of stares on the dc metro but so far only an old lady asked about the iPad.

The first that happened when I walked out the store was 4 people asked me about the iPad. I was only standing outside the Apple Store. :p

1) Apple stores are just awesome, and I go in for no reason at all.
2) You get it immediately instead of waiting for it to ship.
3) (A personal one) My closest Apple store is in downtown Los Gatos and I love that place.
4) You can ask any questions you may have.

I feel bad for this guy, imagining him all excited about getting his new iPad on launch day only to have something this horrible happen. I wish there was a way for people to "donate" to cover a new one for him.
