I just got a new 27 inch i7 imac yesterday. Have used it a bunch yesterday and today. I decided to restart it about 15 minutes ago and its still on the blue screen with the little circle thing rotating around. How long does this take and what the heck is wrong with it. Im jaded on windows ***** and thought apple was better than this. Is there a reason my computer is doing this. Please help.

It might have hanged so just shut it down and try again

If you do that, just make sure you dont hear the laser writing to the HD or you could brick your imac.

This can sometimes happen after you have installed new software or an update.

It's nothing to worry about

if it does it again reset your startup disk found in system preferences. sometimes it will hang because it is looking for a network boot then times out and then finally boots to the hdd.
