I never planned on getting an iPad Pro until my local NEX had a scratch off promotion (5, 10, 15, or 25% Off) but they only had the 11" Space Gray 64GB model. Figured I take a chance, only got 5% off, and see what the hype was all about before I left for deployment. The last iPad I owned was the 1st Gen iPad Mini 32GB. So initially it was a massive jump from what I used back in 2012. ProMotion was a nice touch and I love the body of the iPad. The rounded edges were ok in the previous models that I tested with but compared to this new design, I can't go back. The only downside I can really think of is the base model storage. The 64GB only has about 54GB to play with. I still have the plastic on since I'm currently waiting on my screen protector, which I hope doesn't interfere with the Smart Folio. Not much of an artist so I might not pick up the Pencil until later. So far I am satisfied with my purchase.

Is there any recommended apps that is a MUST have?

Your going to love it. My first iPad ever was the 11” iPad Pro 64GB cellular model, I’ve since moved up to the 11” 1TB cellular version in silver. And it is a incredible experience. As for apps, there is a little of everything depending on what you do. I’d recommend Adobe Scan which will scan and store any physical copies of paper, books, pictures or anything. You can scan all your power bills just to keep a record lol. And cut down on clutter. Lumafusion is fantastic for editing videos, or Adobe Rush too, or the pre installed iMovie works ok. If you want to game, PUBG is great FPS shooter or 3rd per shooter, and GRID Motorsport is a racing game that really shows off the power of the device. GRID™ Motorsport is a console ported game, and you can play it at 120Hz with 120FPS too. “Capture” is great for recording your screen, or gameplay. Adobe Draw is built around the pencil 2nd gen and it is a lot of fun, even if you may or may not be an artist. I’m certainly not either. “Shaper3D” is kinda like autoCAD for iPad, you need the pencil though it really uses the CPU and shows how powerful these thin light devices really are.

I could go on for days, there’s plenty of great apps.

If you own a smart case, watch the corners and not to bump things, and don’t drop or sit on it lol.

I’m happy with mine, and plenty of other people too.

Oh and, unfortunately they do rob you for a little storage but that’s how it is. My 1024GB only has 950GB available upon start with a new device. So that’s like 75GB gone, more than a entire base model 64GB iPad missing lol. I’ll get over it.

It really depends on what you’re doing. Get the software that makes the important tasks easier. If you explain in more detail what you’re trying to achieve you’ll get better recommendations.

I got the Note 10 Plus instead. Sure the screen isn't as big but it comes with a Stylus, and it's a phone as well..

I have a note 10 plus and i was thinking just like you are. But I also have older iPads, iPad Pro 12.9 and older macbook pros. I find that even with DEX which is my favorite feature of the phone, I still want to have a portable machine. The phone is rock solid awesome but writing on it with the small pen isn’t as ideal as a bigger screen. I was in the market for the Tab S6 until I found out about iPadOS beta - installed it on my older 12.9 iPad Pro and I have decided to opt for a pro-motion iPad Pro 512GB model! I’m sorry but android tablets are just not good enough compared to iOS tablets now with iPadOS it’s the 1st step to ultimate domination!

DEX mode on the smaller tab S6 isn’t as good as a larger 11 inch or even 12.9 ipad. I just wish apple would do an apple DEX but I guess iPadOS is the 2nd best thing. THe biggest issue with the tab S6 is the pricing. Too close to an iPad Pro; the promotion screen is just icing on the cake.
