MP 1,1-5,1 First time Dual monitors - Cinema display!

Hi all - I currently have my Benq 27" connected to my Rx580 via my Mac pro 5.1 via DisplayPort. I have my old cinema display i got up from storage and was going to see if I can setup as a dual screen. I realized the mini display port with cinema display wont work and I even put my old nvidia gt120 gpu that came with the macpro back in along side the 580. The cinema display booted up but got stuck on grey screen and nothing happened on my benq as kept saying signal lost. So removed the gt120.

So that was a bust. So I'm thinking maybe I need to invest in a mini display port (cinema display) to displayport or hdmi cable that works with my rx580?

I use something like that to go from my RX580 to my 30” Apple Cinema Display.

The setup is:
RX580 -> display port to mini display port adapter -> mini display port to dual link dvi active adapter -> Apple Display.

Should work. I got my adaptor from China for $1 few years back

Not all RX 580s have a dual link DVI connector (or a DVI connector at all). In fact, most don't. The standard configuration is 3 DVI ports, and an HDMI port. So at least one adapter would have to be used... unless you purchase a DisplayPort to DVI cable.
