First Time Jailbreaker.. Members this is simple quetions please help.

Ok so i've owned my iphone 16g since the second day it was released... I have a 2 year contract with AT&T and I do not plan on changing it. I want to continue using the Edge Network, when available Wi-fi, and AT&T telephone servicer.

What I seek.
-Desktop themes(wallpapers, icons, etc...)
-Games
-Maybe aim apps.

From what i've researched I just want to make sure i got it right before i do the install. I'm scared but i want to do it tonight. Ok here it goes,.

I bought my phone and it already came with the little wiggling icons if i hold down the icon to rearange icons. Since i purchased my 16gig, i believe standard is 1.1.4 version.

Right now on my iphone it says version 1.1.4.

Correct me if i'm wrong, if i'm not, just reply with something simple like "yeah that's right" because i don't want to get confused.

****As you guys can see from my signature, i'm clicking ziphone + Apple = unlocked

****I plug in my iphone via usb and then itunes will open and i shut down itunes and itunes helper from Active monitor.
****Then i double click the ziphone OSX icon and check off ONLY jailbreak and start....

****After that is done, i slick to unlock and i should see installer and ziphone icon on my home screen on my iphone.

Then i believe i tunes will open up... Will itunes say anything or come up with a notice of any sort?.. and if it does, i think i'm supposed to uplugg my iphone and then press ok on itunes and then plug it back in and itunes will open up and everything will be ok.

NOW, for themes, just use the installer and download summerboard
For games, obviously NES games etc...
And look for additional apps. and install.

That's it..

-Is there any additional apps i NEED to install after that easy install?.. and if yes, what and what for?
-My EDGE network and Wi-Fi will continue to work?
-I once the June update comes out from itunes how can i reverse it to original state as when i just bought the phone... AKA unjailbroken, aka virgin.
Will my maps, wiggles of icons, and youtube still work on EDGE AND Wi-Fi?

Hopefully a fellow member will answer these questions soon so i can start it now. So far I've already installed ziphone on my computer but haven't ran it yet until you guys give me the ok.

You're pretty much right on. I used ZiPhone and began using installer right off after it finished. I've read several threads and guides that suggest installing BSD Subsystems and SSH after the jailbreak but I don't think they're essential for the phone to work.

I would definitely install BSD subsystem OpenSSH is only really needed if you intend to SHH into your phone, aka access the files from your computer, which you will need to do if you wan NES roms (unless you find a NES rom pack from some repo source). BUT since you are running 1.1.4, you should install the 1.1.3/4 theme fix and the smb theme fix that are under Tweaks(1.1.3) in installer, so that your summerboard will work correctly. Install community sources just to get access to more stuff. I recommend Apollo for your IM client, but along with that you need the IM chat 1.1.3 fix also under tweaks(1.1.3), it says 1.1.3 but it works for 1.1.4. Past that its pretty much whatever you want. All your stock applications, maps, weather, youtube should all work still. If they dont look around here, there are threads about all that.

BSD is necessary for a lot of apps to work, but it will tell you that when you try to install them.

OMG, so i wet along with the install of the jailbreak. Well i am extremley happy with the new installer.

I had the change to install Summerboard and some themes (all themes didn't work on my iphone 1.1.4???)

In any case, i was having trouble getting NES games BUT again after researching more on the forum i got my answer (not posting more questions) and proceded with gettinng the games to work. I then uninstalled that because i prefer regular billiard, solitair games.

Anyway thank you for the heads up i have installed the theme 1.1.3 tweak 1 minutes ago, and also smb theme fix. I don't really know what that will now do but i'll keep getting themes. Thank you for the advises everyone.

20 minutes later, my fiance jailbroke (well i did) her phone!


My LAST question... i see all these themes on the site, is there a good community source that people can recommend to intstall more themes that will work with my iphone 1.1.4?) Please let me know. I'm a big theme perso and i would like to have options in terms of that. Please recommend reliable sources.
