So I DL'd Absinthe and Tiny Umbrella and I'm about to start the process JBing 5.1.1 on a 4s. My first question is what do these warnings in TU mean (see pics)

As I understand if I back up the SHSH files than I CAN'T Brick the phone. Is this true?

If I decide/or need to restore the phone to factory settings, i.e. warranty thru Apple, will there be any trace that it was JB'ed?

Also what else do I need to watch out for. I'm using a MBP running ML.

Any help is appreciated.

If you did not save 5.1.1 hashes while Apple was signing 5.1.1, it is too late.
TinyUmbrella will tell you if Cydia has them.

So worst case scenario is I would have to restore to 6.0?

I thought the reason for TU was to back up my own hashes.

it is, but you can only save them while Apple is still signing that particular iOS.

If apple stopped signing (as they did on 5.1.1 within 3 days after iOS 6 became public) you can't get them anymore.

Cydia saves them as well
If you have never been jailbroken cydia won't have the them.

So yes if you have no SHSH on 5.1.1 and you have to restore for some reason you have to restore to iOS 6.

If you restore to stock and setup as new there will be no trace.

Thank you. If I jailbreak and have issues is it simply a matter of restoring in iTunes as a new phone. I'm just worried about bricking.

Once again thank you. But just to be clear if I jailbreak using absinthe and I have issues I can simply restore in iTunes to 6.0.
What kind of hardware issues could I possibly have. I'm just trying to be overly cautious because I don't want to ruin my phone. But I really want to try some of the tweaks in Cydia.

You won't have hardware issues from jailbreaking.
The comment was you cannot "brick" an iPhone unless it has some hardware failure.
"bricking" is an vastly overused n00b term.

Thank you again and feel free to keep the advice coming. #
