First time putting CD in MBP disk drive troubles

So, I just got a new MBP. Upon putting the disk in to install Leopard, my computer has now been making weird noises, little beeps, about four times a minute, for... approaching on five minutes. It won't eject.

What should I do? And what's wrong?

Now it just said a blank DVD was inserted and ejected it? (Or maybe I clicked eject on the window that came up; honestly, I was so surprised I don't remember.)

So is it just a bad disc? Should I try again?
