So I just downloaded the fitness app to my iPad in order to be able to access the new Apple Fitness+ workouts. I have to say I was disappointed that all my fitness and ring information isn’t included in the iPad app. I don’t see why it loud the just be transferred over through iCloud like very thing else in the iOS universe is, such as notes, photos, etc.

Most people aren't jogging with their iPads. As a result, I see no need for the rings to be in the iPad version of the app.

Many people aren't jogging with their phones either.

The fitness community has actually been asking this for years. The watch gathers health data and the app is for reading it. Its all stored in the cloud so why should evaluating patterns and monitoring progress be limited to the phone. And it makes even less sense now that Fitness+ on iPad REQUIRES direct watch connectivity.

One "bonus" I noticed is the stat tracking on the watch is mirrored on the iPad when I start the exercise. Starting/pausing/stopping exercise is "synced" between the watch and my iPad.

But I agree..be nice to see the activity history on the iPad though.

Does the fitness and ring information show on the iPad when you are in a work out at least?
It does for me. I can control on the iPad to display these stats or not. There’s also option to turn off the time for me. I turn off the time cause it distracts me to calculate how much time is left. I may just try turning all the stats off to just focus on the exercise..

How can you be so sure? I always see people jogging with EarPods in the ears which are connected to an iPhone in their pocket all the time.

I don't know how many aren't but my wife doesn't want her phone when she jogs. Don't think it's an everyone does it or everyone doesn't issue.

might be ok for those who have cellular apple watches but others like myself wouldn't leave the house without my phone for this reason.

It’s pretty nice that it displays your rings while you’re working out with your iPad showing a video on Fitness+. But it would be even better if it could display all your Fitness activity history, trends, awards, etc.
