Has anyone connected their ipad and apple watch? If so, are you able to see your apple watch in the Bluetooth settings?

When I start fitness workout on the iPad, the watch will connect to my iPad and the watch stats (heart rate, calories, rings) shows up on my iPad. The stats on the iPad tracks with the watch. Outside of using the fitness, the watch isn’t paired with the iPad. I’m guessing maybe Apple is using the iCloud account to do the syncing?

Here
Mine did this as well. I quit the app and kept trying. After 3 attempts it worked as intended.

Tried all the above.
Rebooted phone and iPad multiple times
erased all contents on watch and reloaded from backup...don’t want to setup as new

fitness+ on iphone recognizes the warch but will NOT find the watch on iPad. all devices are up to date
signed out of iCloud on all devices and then back in again. Still not working on iPad.

For what its worth, my iPhone XR, Apple watch SE and both ipads (11" Pro and mini 4) are connected to same wifi and they all have bluetooth on. They're all on the latest iOS/iOSPad and WatchOS. Over the past few days, I've used the Fitness+ on both iPads and they connect fine. Occasionally there may be a 1 second delay..but otherwise pretty fast. I haven't tried it on the phone yet.

Mine is having the same problem. I've tried every day since it released - the phone connects to my watch, but when trying to pull up a workout with iPad (Pro - 11" 2020) then it tries and eventually tells me "Apple Watch Unavailable". Very discouraging.

I've got good news for you. Do you have an Apple TV by any chance? You have to make sure you have "Homekit" setup in icloud and sharing is "on". In my situation, I reset my Apple TV and setup homekit and it solved the issue on the iPad. Very strange but figured it could help you.

I had issue with iPad but not the iPhone. I tried restarting devices as well as log off and log back in. Neither worked.

I fixed the issue by launching the Home app on iPad for the very first time. I never used the app once on the iPad before. Just launch the app and let it fully loaded, then click Continue button on the welcome message. Then I come back to the fitness app and it works. There might be some shared components between home and fitness.

this worked perfect for me...it was working on the iPhone but not iPad and I had never used the Home app on iPad...frustrated because I restored the iPad, phone, and watch, so many times....and this is all it took. I loaded the Home app, clicked continue and let it load my home automations and devices...opened fitness and it immediately connected to Apple Watch

Finally excited to try this out! I was having trouble with Sidecar not working either - signed out of Apple ID and signed back in -- it did the trick!
