So I stupidly hit okay on using iCloud Music Library and now my music is all messed up and has incorrect art/etc. I've already done the fix to go back to an older version of the library, but it doesn't matter, the damage is done. As someone in another thread pointed out, iTunes actually went in and edited the metadata on every single song file.

So now is the only fix to go in manually and fix everything yourself? And if you do, what will happen? Will iTunes just overwrite everything you did the next day? What's the best way to handle this broken library? (And remember, I've already restored to an older version, and many of my songs are still messed up).

Just thought of this - would doing a time machine restore on the music folder fix it?

I am sure this was tried, but has anyone created a new library, loaded IML onto it and deleted all of the songs in the cloud, then made sure it was empty on all their iOS devices?

I have done that but have not turned on IML again on iTunes. I am sure the fix isn't that simple, but I was wondering if it was worth a try.

I think the issue is that the meta data has been changed in each actual song file itself. Meaning you have to go in an manually change each file. I'm just worried that after doing that, iTunes will swoop back in and mess it up again...

Yes. Turn off iCloud Music Library and then do a time machine restore of all your music (not just your iTunes library) to a time before you first turned it on. That should fix the issues. However, they *will* come back if you turn it on again.
