When I first ran XP with Boot Camp, I kept having an issue with the mouse cursor stuttering or freezing intermittently. Sometimes this materializes as audio stuttering.

After searching far and wide, I finally came upon a solution to this problem. MacRumors was the first place I looked, but couldn't find a fix, so I'm posting this for others who might have this problem.

Two solutions -- you might need one or the other or both:

1. In the Intel graphics settings, turn off auto "power saving" feature

2. Disable any unused wireless devices (bluetooth, wifi) by going to
Control Panel > Network Connections

Hope this helps

Saw you had a c2d, which i have myself. however cant seem to get the drivers sorted for the audio in xp (as i have seen a few other people with this problem but still not fixed) Which drivers did you use for your sound or was it from the bc driver disc?
