I got fed up with the issue wherein my external display would not go above 1024x768 in bootcamp. I emailed sjobs@apple.com and told him of the issue. Today I got a response stating a fix to the rampant issue. I'll try it over the weekend when i have time..but sounds good to me.

Your issue has been fixed.

Nvidia's Windows graphics drivers don't correctly support 1900x1200 monitors (on any Windows machine). We convinced them to create custom Windows drivers for Apple, which correctly support the full resolution of our monitors. They went live this week at:

Subject: unresolved issue with bootcamp

Hello. There is an issue with bootcamp across the most recent MBP systems that has been present since their inception. Even with Leopard, this problem has not been resolved. Many many people on various message boards have complained about this issue, yet there has been no fix for nearly 6 months. I sent this issue through to the bootcamp feedback email multiple times during its beta with no response.

The issue is that, while in bootcamp with an external monitor attached in DVI, the maximum resolution the monitor can reach is 1024x768. This is a 24" monitor that can reach 1900x1200 natively in OSX or on any other computer. I have tried other monitors as well with the same result - the maximum resolution is 1024x768.

I'm running a mbp 2.2 ghz, 8600GT, 2 gigs of ram computer in bootcamp (Vista home premium 32 bit). We actually have two of this model and both exhibit the same issue. This is a huge issue for us because we need 2 monitors for what we do in windows.

Thank you.

This 'fix' doesn't work for me using Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro 2.2 with a Philips monitor with a native resolution of 1280x1024. I just get 1024x768.

All find under Leopard though.
