For those that have had their Visual Voicemail stop working after installing the IPPC that gives you tethering and MMS options here is the fix -

settings>general>netwrok>Cellular Data Network>Visual Voicemail>

Current with modded IPPC = wap.cingular - change this to acds.voicemail, then restart phone.

APN needs to be set to acds.voicemail

Mine still works and it's set to wap.cingular...

yep, this has been mixed for everyone - some works, some doesnt. Mine did not and found this setting and changed it and it started working again. Not sure if it depends on the market you are in or not, but for those that it stopped working for - try this and cross your fingers.

If it doesn't work, what happens? Will it tell you that theres a problem, or that you can't listen to any new voice mails? Because I haven't got any new voice mails since last night, but I can still listen to my old ones...

This is what I'm wondering as well.

Haha, yep. It doesn't work with wap.cingular. I changed it to the new one and restarted and it worked. Good find. I would've kept using it without it working and I wouldn't have known.

It doesnt not tell you or alert you that it does not work, it simply will not pull down new messages. You can dial your number and get your VM but it will not pull them down to the Visual Voicemail - does that help answer your questions?

Anyways - make these changes changes and reboot and you visual vm will work again :)

Yea, I noticed that...and it didn't even work after a reboot. Now I need to remove the carrier file.

Still not receiving any and I've restored...any ideas?

Does anyone have the default carrier settings file that I can update with?

you will need to install the 3.0 GM as a new phone - that should rewrite the IPPC file - I know that it is a pain to transfer 16GB of data back but I think that might be the only option you have. I did a restore from 3.0 last night and not a new install and was left with the old IPPC - so I am just guessing a new phone install would wipe everything back to fresh 3.0 gm

It hasn't from what I can tell. I'll check in a second.

It has but it hasn't allowed me to download voicemails. Weird.

Of what? The fact that it won't let me connect? It won't. There is NOTHING to show. I restored so I cannot change the carrier settings and it is the default carrier settings now because I cannot tether or use MMS.

do you still have the mms and tethering options available?

I may have to re-do the carrier settings in Windows and see about changing it back. It's always worth a shot...

Nope, still unavailable. **** this.

I said that...no. Read the post. I RESTORED.

Sweet. It fixed mine, and I didn't even have to restart my phone.

dont have to be an asshat about esp in a thread where someone is trying to help you. Just because you restored does not mean that the settings went away - they didnt on mine. Go find another thread and others to help you if you cant be non aggressive - I wish you had seen the original reply that got deleted.

I was being serious.
