Hi People,
I was having a problem with this and from a search on the web I found that allot of other people were having the same issue.
I downloaded and followed the instructions for getting the SKY+ App to work but despite have done everything on the sky box and on the phone it was still saying that it was not setup for remote record.
Problem
The issue for most people seems to be that they created an account on Sky.com some years ago but forgot they had it. I already had one and created a new one as I had done exactly that. Here lies the problem.
Fix
You need to set your account to be the primary account on sky.com as follows:
In order to use the Remote Record service on Sky.com/Sky Mobile, you will need to amend your username wedmonds1 from a Guest account to a Primary account. Please follow the procedure detailed below:
Login into www.sky.com/mysky with your guest username
Click upgrade my account under the billing section on the left.
You will now be asked for your house number and postcode.
Now please enter your viewing card number.
You should now have a message stating that youre the primary user.
That is it!.... You can not remote record from your phone or via their website (instructions below)
After completing the steps above, to send a Remote Record request via Sky.com
From the Sky.com homepage select the My Sky tab
You may be prompted to login to your Sky.com profile again.
Select TV Listings'
Browse the TV Listings and select the programme you wish to record
Select 'Remote Record' and confirm 'Yes' you wish to send the recording request
I confirmation message will be displayed to confirm the recording has been sent.
