My brother gave me a broken iPad Pro, 3rd Gen. It is completely unresponsive. Left it plugged in over night, screen never lights up. Push buttons, held buttons, did some of the reset button pushes I saw online. (The only thing I didn't do was plug it into a computer.)

(I've been told that Apple said it's "dead" but not sure what that actually means.)

To me, the lack of power means that either the battery isn't getting charged (battery or usb-c connection issue), or there's an issue with the logic board/other internals which prevents it from powering up.

For fun, I used the iFixit guide to remove the screen take a look at the internals, but as you might expect there's nothing visibly wrong with it.

At this stage, I'm not sure what to do, or what could even be done. Is there anything I can/should test or try? Or do I put the screen back on and send it off to recycling?

Edit: 11" model. (Thanks @floral for asking.)

12.9" or 11"?

I can't help with repairs, but that might be useful info for anyone who can.

it could be a dead battery, but the risk is that if it's not you might buy one and it still wouldn't work
