"My friend" just downloaded a live show that came in .flac. How can I encode these to MP3 or AAC. Thanks

PS: mods, if you fell this falls into the mac software category, feel free to move it.

I can tell you the windows way and it will work, but if it's a Mac, there is an app called MacFlac - I don't know if that will help. But for windows:

-Download Foobar2000 Special and install the Flac driver that it will ask to install - only SPECIAL comes with this driver. It may be special or something like that, but not regular.

-Play the songs and convert to .WAV.

-Import the WAV into iTunes and convert! Delete the WAV files which will be at 1411 KBPS, or you can keep them and have a huge but lossless file collection.

EDIT - FOR MAC:

xACT will convert .flac to a lossless format like WAV of AIFF and import to iTunes to convert to .mp3 or .m4a (AAC)
