Cog can play them.

You can also use xAct to convert them into something else (like AIFF/WAV) and import into iTunes.

And there's also a FLAC QuickTime plugin, but its slow and buggy. I can see if I manage to dig up a link.

Edit: Nevermind. Remembered that it doesn't work with the latest iTunes anyway, so I won't bother searching for it.

PureMusic Player also plays FLAC files, but I prefer to convert them to AIFF using xAct.

I can't remember exactly which, but one of xAct or PureMusic requires that the FLAC binaries are already installed. MacFLAC will install the binaries (and then you can delete the application itself).

xAct is fantastic. It actually comes with the FLAC codecs (right word?) because I downloaded it yesterday. :) I've used it many times before and from memory, it even comes with the APE decoders too. It's a very versatile app.

thanks, eXact worked great, real easy to use. with my limited ram, the program ran a little slow, but it was very effective.

thanks again guys
