FLAC on iOS17

I might have misread somewhere, bu I thought there will be FLAC support.

Is it the case? I can just transfer my FLAC directly like mp3 or ALAC and that’s it?

Well, I’m getting my new device on Monday, so I’ll try. It would be nice to skip converting my FLAC to ALAC.

The Mac's Music app still doesn't upload FLAC files, so I doubt the phone will. How would you plan to get them on the phone?

Just by transferring them. I thought iOS 17 was compatible. Maybe I read it incorrectly.

You can install VLC and copy the files via file transfer when plugged in. It will play FLAC.

You can't play them via the native music app.

You can transfer FLAC to Files and can play it there.

Thanks. So no possibility to read FLAC on iPhone with the music app. I’ll convert them in ALAC, then.
